1) Services & Scope
1.1 Live Event Illustration. We provide on-site, time-boxed, fashion-inspired live sketching for weddings, showers, brand activations, and related events.
1.2 Commissions. We accept custom illustration commissions rendered in a stylized, fashion-illustration aesthetic (not photorealistic portraiture).
1.3 Website Content. Information on the Site (pricing, availability, offerings) is subject to change without notice.
2) Eligibility
- You must be at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering a binding contract. If you book on behalf of a company or client, you represent you are authorized to bind that entity and share accurate event details.
3) Quotes, Booking, Payment & Taxes
- 3.1 Quotes. Proposals/quotes are valid for the time stated or, if none, 14 days.
- 3.2 Retainer. A non-refundable 50% retainer is required to reserve your date or begin a commission; no date is confirmed until the retainer clears.
- 3.3 Balance. The remaining balance is due six (6) weeks before the event date (or as otherwise stated in your quote). Late payment may forfeit your reservation.
- 3.4 Methods. Accepted payment methods are stated on your invoice/checkout. You authorize us to charge the method you provide for all amounts due.
- 3.5 Pricing & Taxes. Prices are in U.S. dollars and exclude applicable taxes, fees, shipping, and travel costs. You are responsible for any applicable Illinois and U.S. taxes.
- 3.6 Travel & Lodging. Travel outside the Chicago Metro Area may incur additional travel/mileage, lodging, per-diem, parking, and assistant fees, as itemized in your quote.
- 3.7 Security/Setup Fees. Venue or building access, union labor, or special setup fees are your responsibility.
4) Cancellations, Rescheduling & Refunds
- 4.1 Client Cancellation. Retainers are non-refundable. If you cancel after paying the balance, only shipping or un-incurred travel portions (if any) may be considered for partial refund at our discretion.
- 4.2 Rescheduling. We will make reasonable efforts to accommodate rescheduling based on availability within 12 months; new pricing or fees may apply.
- 4.3 Provider Cancellation. If we must cancel due to illness, emergency, or force majeure, we will (a) offer to reschedule or (b) refund payments received, limited to amounts paid, as your sole remedy.
- 4.4 Commissions. Final sale. Because commissions are custom, no refunds are available after work begins.
5) Event Requirements & Client Responsibilities
- 5.1 Setup. You agree to provide one 6′ table, two chairs, adequate lighting, proximate power access (as needed), and suitable workspace away from hazards.
- 5.2 Timing. We typically arrive ~45 minutes before start for setup. Each portrait usually takes ~5–7 minutes depending on detail; couples count as two people.
- 5.3 Cooperation. You will coordinate venue permissions, provide a point of contact, and ensure reasonable access for our team and materials.
- 5.4 Photography & Likeness. You are responsible for obtaining permissions for live sketching and any reference photos taken on the day for the purpose of completing artwork.
6) Artistic Style, Deliverables & Shipping
- 6.1 Style. Our work is stylized, fashion-inspired and not photorealistic. Facial features and proportions are rendered in an expressive, editorial manner.
- 6.2 Guest Counts. Estimated guest counts illustrated are approximate and may vary due to event flow and interactions.
- 6.3 Unfinished Pieces. Any unfinished portraits included in your package may be completed in studio and mailed to you as set forth in your quote (typically within ~4 weeks).
- 6.4 Deliverables. Options may include on-site 5×7” prints, hand-rendered marker illustrations on heavyweight paper, and/or digital files, as stated in your quote.
- 6.5 Shipping. Unless otherwise stated, shipped items are sent unframed via a tracked carrier (e.g., UPS 2-Day Air). Title and risk of loss pass upon carrier acceptance.
- 6.6 Damage in Transit. Notify us within 3 business days of delivery with photos; we will assist with a carrier claim and discuss remedies in good faith.
7) Personalization, Add-Ons & Changes
- 7.1 Personalization. Names, monograms, dates, logos, or venue illustration add-ons are available at listed fees by package.
- 7.2 Approvals. For commissions, one round of refinement to the preliminary sketch is included; additional changes or post-final redraws may incur 100% redraw fees.
- 7.3 Post-Booking Changes. Substantive changes to scope (e.g., hours, guest count) may require a revised quote and additional fees.
8) Client Materials & Reference Content
- 8.1 License to Use. You represent you own or have permission to provide any photos, logos, or references and grant us a nonexclusive license to use them solely to perform the Services.
- 8.2 No Infringing Content. Do not provide materials that infringe others’ rights or violate law. You are responsible for any claims arising from materials you supply.
